Oh Nooooooooooo. I'm so sorry. I followed Prisma's story through his ups and downs and am so sorry this ended so badly. You were a great mom to him and did all you could for the little guy. Ann

Thanks for your words of support, Ann. I hate it that after all this illness, recovery, and treatment, that he went like this. I still feel responsible because I left the aquarium lid off after I fed him, which I always do after I feed him to give him some heat and light from the under-cabinet lights (there is no heater in that tank) for a while. I always closed it at night and when we're gone, and he'd never tried to jump out before. I'm not sure what happened this morning, but I feel terrible I didn't catch him in time, or that I just didn't put the lid back on while we were getting ready. Otherwise, I certainly tried my best with his other ailments, and after he was supposed to heal up from the fin rot, I was planning to move him to the bigger, heated, lighted tank. I hope in his own fishie way he knew I tried to take care of him. Regardless, I hope these experiences make me a better fishie mom in the future. Thanks for following his story. I wish it had a better ending. At least he's no longer suffering.
Thanks also, Fishie Mama. I know your guys will guide him well and keep him company. Thanks for helping me take care of him.

I'm so sorry about Prisma It's heartbreaking to lose a fish this way, but you did so much good for him. I'm quite certain he knew how hard you tried to give him the very best of care.

I'm so sorry and so saddened to read this today. You did everything you could and now Prisma has joined all of our little ones who have gone on to Heaven. He was very beautiful and I know you loved him and will miss him a lot. He's a young, strong, and healthy boy once again and I'll bet he's eating at the bloodworm buffet up there right now. Rest in peace Prisma. Swim free in the galaxy.
Kathleen

Thanks for your words of comfort, Perdue, Kathleen, and Sprite.
I will definitely miss him, but I know all your guys that have gone before are keeping him company. He will always have a special place in my heart amongst the fishies I have owned--he was a neat one.
I guess as art therapy of my own, I made a little marker for him:

That is a very beautiful marker for Prisma. I love the picture of him that you drew on it. Bless his sweet little heart.

Thanks, everyone! I think making his little marker was helpful to me; I'm glad you all liked it. Not fancy, but meaningful, anyway.
Again, I appreciate all of your support both before and after Prisma's passing. I'll never forget your kindness.
